The CTFTVA president and Crooked Smile founder is connecting statewide film advocacy with hands-on casting, crew, production services, premieres, and creative-community events.
Donn ‘Q’ Quijada occupies two distinct but complementary positions in Connecticut's film ecosystem: President of the Connecticut Film & TV Alliance and founder of Crooked Smile Production Services & Casting Agency.
CTFTVA's public board profile credits Donn with more than a decade in the industry and work on over 100 music videos, commercials, television shows, feature films, short films, and other productions.
CTFTVA works at the community and infrastructure level—connecting members, sharing opportunities, supporting education, convening the industry, and strengthening the conditions that help film, television, and digital-media work grow in Connecticut.
Crooked Smile operates on the practical production side. Its public service mix includes casting, talent, production staffing, crew, locations, props, actors, models, photographers, dancers, and support for feature films, commercials, music videos, independent productions, and live events.
That combination matters because an industry needs both opportunity infrastructure and teams that can execute. A filmmaker may need a room, a cast, a crew, a location, a production partner, an audience, sponsors, or a way to bring the finished work into public view. Donn's work touches each part of that path.
The distinction between the organizations remains important: CTFTVA is the statewide Alliance, while Crooked Smile is Donn's production-services and casting business. Events produced through Crooked Smile or related creative teams are not automatically official CTFTVA events, even when Alliance leaders or volunteers are represented.

What this means for the people making media
News becomes useful when it connects back to action. A new production creates opportunities for local crews and vendors. A venue story can become a location or broadcast lead. A policy change can change a budget. A community story can become the next documentary, campaign, interview, or music video.
