Darien filmmaker Paul Sanchez brought a Bridgeport-shot art-horror film into the city’s fifth annual film festival.
The 2025 Bridgeport Film Festival featured Babyteeth, an art-horror short filmed in Bridgeport by Darien native Paul Sanchez. The festival’s fifth edition presented more than 70 shorts alongside panels, workshops, podcasts, parties, and filmmaker networking.
That combination matters: Bridgeport was not only the host city but part of the work on screen. A healthy local film ecosystem connects locations, creators, venues, festivals, audiences, and the businesses that make production possible.
The 2025 festival has concluded. Current festival dates, programs, submissions, and tickets should be verified with the Bridgeport Film Fest.
What this means for the people making media
News becomes useful when it connects back to action. A new production creates opportunities for local crews and vendors. A venue story can become a location or broadcast lead. A policy change can change a budget. A community story can become the next documentary, campaign, interview, or music video.
